• Hopefully you can follow along and point me in the right direction.

I host my websites with Go Daddy. I have 2 domains. 1 Main that Is for my photography. 1 additional that I use with my name to play around and build sites using www.ads-software.com

I purchased a 3rd domain and wanted to build a website for a Photo Booth business I am starting.

My play around site (ericmschwanke.com) I started building the new photo booth site on (thegreenbayphotobooth.com) and than got an idea that I would go into settings and change the site name in WordPress to match this new site (thegreenbayphotobooth.com) well I would like to keep playing around on my secondary play site (ericmschwanke.com) and when I try … ericmschwanke.com/wp-admin I now get re-routed to the Photo Booth login and cannot access ericmschwanke.com

I am assuming because (thegreenbayphotobooth.com) is using my file from (ericmschwanke.com) with my go daddy? So it is all confused and inter wound?

Can I fix this by taking the now (thegreenbayphotobooth.com) and changing the urls to point back to (ericmschwanke.com)???

Than can I copy all the pages/content/coding from the one site to the other so it isn’t different than how it appears now?

  • Change the urls back. See Changing_The_Site_URL for details of how to do this correctly without logging in.

Will this allow me to just set up the new site correctly than?

Can you clarify exactly what you were trying to do? Is the thegreenbayphotobooth.com site intended to replace ericmschwanke.com or work alongside it?

    Actually Neither.

I want them both independent sites. I screwed this up by switching the url within wordpress in the settings from ericmschwanke.com to thegreenbayphotobooth.com

Do you intend to grab separate hosting for one of these sites? If so, it would be better to either wait until you’ve finished your work and them move the site.

The work is finished. I have hosting with Go Daddy just need to create a new database for the Photo Booth site and free up the EricM site.

Right now I can’t access anything with EricM and routes me back to Photo Booth for WP-Admin login.

I downloaded a plugin called Duplicator. I am assuming that in the settings I can just switch the site back to Ericmschwanke.com and than go with Go Daddy and set up a new WP site with Thegreenbayphotobooth separate? Than use Duplicator to load in all the content?

Did you change the site urls back as I suggested above?

I read the article. Do I need to change the hosting code or can I just do it directly on wordpress under settings?

I’m not sure what you mean by “hosting code”. Use one of the methods outlined on the page I linked to above, Personally, I prefer the functions.php method.

I ended up calling Go Daddy and getting it squared away.
