I need a way to sell instructional videos on a website individually

  • Right now, I am setting up an educational website that allows people with paid membership to access all videos I have uploaded to Vimeo Pro, which is convenient as it disallows the ability to download the videos.

    However, I want to consider the possibility of selling access to each videos individually instead of giving paid members access to all videos. Unfortunately, Vimeo Pro doesn’t support this kind of set up as it only allows the set up of giving members access to all videos.

    Is there a way around this? Would you recommend another service besides Vimeo Pro that allows both type of set up?

    The current theme I’m using is BuddyBoss and the main plugin to create the educational website is LearnDash.

    So basically what you are looking for (and correct me if I am wrong on this) is a website similar to e-commerce website selling products but in your case you will be selling videos. Take a look at this plugin that allows you to sell audio, video or other digital format files online:

    @tsure: Actually, I don’t want members to download the videos because I don’t want them to be shared online. But thanks for the suggestion.

    @learn WP Basics: Thanks. I am actually already using LearnDash plugin that allows me to build courses on the website. What I am looking for is the functionality of selling access to the videos individually while disallowing people from being able to download the instructional videos.

    So far, Vimeo Pro has a privacy setting that doesn’t allow members to download the videos, but the fact that it allows members access to all the videos on the website prevents me from being able to sell videos individually and preventing access to certain members who haven’t paid for them.

    Actually, Lifter LMS will let you sell or sell access to the individual videos from Vimeo Pro. I haven’t used VP for a while, but from what I recall, one embeds the single video in a page/post/lesson and that is the only one they have access to.

    I also have LearnDash and have found Lifter to be more flexible and easier to use, especially when it comes time to monetizing the lessons/courses.
