I need an online instruction manual

  • Hello, I have a client who developed a product, a single product that is usable on multiple models and what I need is a plugin with which I can create a directory of instructions for use with each model. It needs to be organized with at least three levels of categories and I will need to be able to upload the content for the over 100 different models that will continue to grow. I have tried a couple of catalog plugins and a couple of catalog plugins, but haven’t really found what I need, nor does searching either www.ads-software.com or Googling has led me to what I really need, so I thought I would put my request out to the forum and see if anyone has any ideas.

    If you’ve assigned the right categories to each set of instructions, isn’t what you need just a hierarchical listing of all categories? Some of these plugins ought to do that:

    I’m not sure, I suppose I could use the post categories. So there are three types of products, each with their own manufacturer and model number, they have other characteristics like size and handedness. I need to be able to include a table on each post. It’s almost like a product catalog with multiple variables. Mostly I need to create a search page for the instructions, preferable one with a grid of photos the various models people will use the products on–hmm, using a blog module might just work, how I set up the display might work. I would need to create a sidebar widget for searching the categories to drill down to the exact model…ok, this is giving me some ideas…thanks!
