    I have latest word press version

    Now please someone help me can word fence free plugin detect, prevent and block all kinds of
    fraudulent web and mobile traffic including hitbots/bots?
    please you guide me all the way through step by step on how to activate/configure it to do the above or does it automatically do
    the above immediately it is activated?

    Hi,

    Most sites can use the default Wordfence settings when it is first installed. If you have a reverse proxy (like Varnish, CloudFlare, or nginx in some setups), you may need to set the “How does Wordfence get IPs” option.

    Wordfence can block a lot of different types of bots, but it depends on the settings you choose under the Firewall Rules section of the Wordfence options page. Bots are identified by their behavior, like the speed of their pageviews or how many 404 pages they visit. By default they’re unlimited, but you can choose amounts appropriate for your site.

    Malicious bots that attempt to log into the site are covered under the Login Security Options section, below that. You can make the options more strict, if you think it is necessary, but be careful not to set them so strict that they may block legitimate users (or yourself)!
