I need my Call to Action widget to contain a link

If you need to put the link in manually, then this is the code:

<a href="mailto:[email protected]?Subject=Subject%20Here" target="_top">Link Text Here</a>

Or, if you have a space to put it in where it asks for a link, then just use this:

mailto:[email protected]?Subject=Subject%20Here

Obviously changing the mail address and the subject parts

Thank you for your reply. I have entered the mailto: etc and it still doesn’t work. It displays the e-mail address but it isn’t a link? Am I missing something?

Do you have a link to the site? And maybe a screenshot of where you are putting the link?

my site is https://www.getitrighttraining.co.uk. The widgets are on the right and there is one displaying the phone no and mail ad. That’s where I’m trying to create the link.

Ok, so after the phone number, paste this in there:

<a href="mailto:[email protected]" target="_top">[email protected]</a>

That will be for your exact needs.

Right, as its a “link” section, then just put this in the link:

mailto:[email protected]

I am slightly confused if that does not work

that’s what I had already entered, assuming it would work, but it doesn’t. I’m confused too…..

Where do you edit the widget? Is it a text widget or a personalized one?
Can you share a screenshoot when editing the widget and pasting the code given by @innuvo please?

I’m editing the widget in the Widget screen via the Dashboard. It’s a standard Call to Action widget, I haven’t created it myself and it prompts me for a ‘button redirect link’ where I have entered the mailto: information.

I’ve tried to do a screenshot but it won’t let me – do you have to do them in a different way here??

Here’s the link. Hope this works, I’ve never used Imgur before. The widgets are displayed on the right hand side and the one I am trying to edit is expanded.

You can probably guess, I’m very new to WordPress!!
