• I am looking for a theme that looks like something shown beneath. I don’t quite know how to describe it so I made a quick sketch in Paint. Don’t consider the ratios. I am mostly looking for Theme 2 where I can put as many sections (box 1, 2…) as I want.

This is not for a blog but for a website. Do you have any recommendations? I prefer a free theme since I am still testing but don’t mind paying if it is worth it. I would appreciate some that has some kind of support so I can ask when in doubt. I am very new to this.

    Thank you!

In the two boxes next to each other I would like to have a top10 list. In the other box I will put a picture. It is important that the top 10 list is possible.

    Hello there,

Well there are thosuands of themes that you can find online and use it for your own needs, if you are new to this I suggest that you get at least some knowledge of html/css, hosting + domains, installing wordpress, installing themes etc.

also, get firebug; it will help you a lot!

Did you try google to find the themes you want?

Let me know if you need more help!

I am new to building a website from 0 but I am currently managing another website and I have some knowledge of html, hosting + domains. I just got another guy to create the current one and now I want to try it for myself from the beginning.

I have been googling for days without any usable themes but just now I have found some interesting ones on https://www.flytonic.com/

If you have any further insights or things I should be aware of then creating a new site I would appreciate your comments. I will look into firebug later on.

Do you have to pay for those themes?

Well, there is a lot of things you will learn , but dont worry, they were new to everybody!

I suggest you google some tutorials, or just read on wordpress, or how-to’s etc.

    How are your html/css skills?

And, all themes are usuable ! Just have to find one and change it to the way you want it!

yes they are not free but tailored directly to the kind of marketing I will be doing so probably worth the extra cost.

I will definitely go through what ever interesting info I can find. The problem is there is so much information it is difficult to separate the good from bad.

I can understand html and change, edit etc but don’t have much knowledge about creating. I have no experience with css.

Before downloading any themes, you should read this:

    https://www.chipbennett.net/2010/12/10/only-download-wordpress-themes-from-trusted-sources/

Also be aware that these forums only support themes downloaded from this site – https://www.ads-software.com/themes/ so that may make a difference if you’re likely to want help :).

This will only apply for questions regarding the theme, right? I mean if I have other questions on another matter my theme should be irrelevant, right?

    Thank you for the links.

What site are you aiming to make?

Well, at some period of time you will need to have a grasp of css because it will help you to style your website.

Yes, there is plenty of information but more will always help you than less!

Yep, for general WP questions, you’d be okay – so long as the theme is released under GPL licensing requirements of WP.

It’s often necessary for someone to see the site to help with WP issues – and if you’re using a non-GPL theme, it’s not well-received no matter what.

Any good links? I found this one: https://www.html.net/tutorials/css/lesson1.php

What is the best way to find out if the themes are released under these requirements? (say the Flytonic ones)

I do not know the exact rules about posting links on this forum, but if you want shoot me an email and Ill send you my bookmarks.

You should ask them – I looked at their site but couldn’t easily find that info.

As for CSS – these are also good sites:

    https://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp

    https://csscreator.com

    https://getfirebug.com

    udemy.com also provides vide-tutorials

    hope it helps!

thanks guys (or girls). It is greatly appreciated. A quick Google search shows that Flytonic seems to be okay if I go that way. Have not decided yet.

“What license do your themes have?
The design of the theme is covered under the GPL license. Theme support is given to the Theme only and not wordpress itself.”
