I need to add additional areas into my cart page where a user is able to choose their location and they can see how much it would cost to ship to that area. The rates are fixed.

Checking your site’s cart page, I can see that there is no shipping calculator here:

Please navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Options and ensure that the option Enable the shipping calculator on the cart page is enabled.

This will add the shipping calculator to be visible on your cart page:

I need a solution like below but I want mine in a drop down menu. Please note I am not a techie so kindly explain in a way a non techie person will understand.

The default behavior is displayed in a radio button format. However, this varies based on how your theme displays such data.

As a first step, please follow the instructions I provided above, so that we’ll see how the shipping calculator is rendered on your cart page.

I went ahead with adding a product to Cart, and it appears the implementation is as desired (with drop-down selection), currently. Below, I am attaching a screenshot, for reference.

My issue is that I cannot add towns or small regions in a given city. For Example Nairobi is a city in my country and under Nairobi we have areas or zones. These zones have different delivery rates. At the moment I’m only able to see the cities in my country but I cannot drill down to add the areas within a city for me to be able to set the delivery rates. Basically I want to be able to add the zones within a city like Nairobi and have a customer choose their zone which will apply the shipping rate for that zone. Nairobi has many zones within it such that I cannot set one shipping fee for the whole of Nairobi.

I gave an example of a different site that has implemented what I want to implement in my 1st post. I want my zones to be in a drop down so the customer chooses. I hope I have explained my issue better.

With shipping zones in WooCommerce, you can get as specific as you need, right down to regions and zip codes. Are postcodes available in Nairobi?

You can limit to specific zip/postcodes each one with a different shipping flat rate. Please note that shipping zones match customer addresses from top to bottom – this means you’d want to sort the shipping zones starting from?the narrowest at the top?of the list to?the widest at the very bottom.

We don’t have postcodes in Nairobi just areas with names and different shipping rates. For example: Country = Kenya, Zone region = Nairobi county, Kenya. Areas under Nairobi = Ngara(shipping fee 200), SouthB(shipping fee 250), Kitisuru(shipping fee 300)

You can add additional states/areas using the woocommerce_states filter, but this does involve some customizations, which unfortunately falls outside the scope of support.

The team has provided a ready-to-use snippet here on how to achieve this; I hope it can help as a starting point. :?)
