I need to be installed for the translation to work properly?

    Hello!
    One question: once I have already translated a plugin, can I deactivate Loco Translate or does it need to be installed for the translation to work properly?

    You only need to keep the plugin installed if you want custom translation files to be loaded from Loco Translate’s safe folder. Other than this, it performs no function outside of its own admin pages.

    How do I know where they are loaded from now?

    The list of files for your plugin in Loco Translate will show “custom” “author” or “system”, the meaning of which as per link given above
