I need to place editable content on the home page in a unique spot

what kind of editable content ? users can comment on your post.. do you want them to edit the posts ??

I just want to be able to edit the content from the admin mode.

its just regular content (but i want to be able to have the WYSIWYG editor for it) , it wont be content where users can comment editor on it or anything like that

anyone have any ideas how to do this?

I don’t think anyone knows what you want to do…can you provide a link to some site with the type content you want to edit? Or, be a little more specific about what kind of content you want to edit…you can already edit post content, page content, widget content, etc.

ok this is what i want to do.

On the home page of my site I want to add a chunk of content that will only display on the home page, I dont want to add this as a regular post , I need it to be custom looking. I added it straight in the code for now but is there a way i can add it somewhere else so i can edit it like i would edit any other post?

You need custom fields for that. Get the plugin custom field template.

Also you will need to study the codex to see how to add and echo a custom field.
