I really like this plugin but it’s affecting the server response time

  • I activated this plugin on my woocommcerce site and it’s affecting the server response time. The problem wasn’t too apparent on the frontend, but the wp-admin panel is basically unusable. Every page took 2x time to load, even when e.g. searching for a product in an AJAX search bar. I wasn’t quite sure what the problem was, but I tried it on a clean test environment with WP 5.4.2 and the problem persists. I don’t know if it’s because of the API calls to Telegram when the pages are loaded.
    I’m not an expert of developing 2FA plugins so I really couldn’t do anything to modify the php files. If anyone out there knows a fix to this issue please share it with me as this is the only plugin out there that allows 2FA with Telegram.

    Thanks for reporting this issue. I also use “WP 2FA with Telegram” on a site with WooCommerce and have not detected any performance issues. In any case, I’m going to do tests on a development site this week. It would be very useful if you left the name of the theme and the plugins you are using to try to detect any incompatibility with them.

    I will leave the topic open to leave a message when I have finished the tests.

    Thanks, I just updated and unfortunately didn’t feel any difference. I hope (@tresila) also test it and confirm. Still wp-admin panel response time is more than usual.

    It is very strange this behavior.
    Yours are the first reports of a general slowness in the backend area.
    Are you really sure it depends on this plugin?
    From what I’ve seen I didn’t notice anything that can break down the performances.
    The only sections that might be affected should be Login procedure and Plugin Settings.

    Still continue to investigate.
