i dont get emails anymore whenever a new post on my blog has been published

    hi, i followed my own blog when i was still on wordpress.com so i would know how my post look like when delivered via email. but after switching to www.ads-software.com, i don’t seem to get emails anymore and my followers also seem not to get any of my updates as i don’t get any interaction from them anymore. what do i do? thanks!

  • WordPress.com is a service, that uses the software www.ads-software.com and some additional stuff for its services.
    One big part of their service, which is NOT included in the standard setup of www.ads-software.com is about following and getting updates.
    There are several plugins that can help you with this kind of things. Since you’re coming from WordPress.com, then perhaps you should have a look at their plugin Jetpack, which contains some of the stuff you’re used to.

    Hi Tor, thanks for your reply. I’m fully aware of that. I have installed Jetpack the moment I get my hands on my newly transferred blog. The thing is, I have a friend who also moved her blog to a self-hosting. But I guess she didn’t have this problem as I’m still getting updates from her blog via email when she posts a new blog post. I’m getting email notifs such as whenever someone followed my blog but not when I posted a new post.

    I’m afraid I can’t help. I simply don’t know much about WordPress.com. Did you URL change? Do you still have your subscribers there? Have you tried following yourself again, perhaps from a different e-mail address?

    Hi again,

    I didn’t change URL. I tried following my blog using a different account and published a new post. I still didn’t get any update via email. This is a little frustrating. ??

    I guess there may be several reasons for this. If you’re using Jetpack, then I’d suggest that you check/ask in their forum, since you then will be among people who know its ways much better than I do.

    I’ve managed to solve this issue! I did two things:

    1) I saw there’s a ‘Move Followers from a WordPress.com Site’ option on Jetpack. So I moved my followers from theshoenazi.wordpress.com to theshoenazi.com.

    2) I noticed that primary Site was pointing to theshoenazi.wordpress.com, so I changed it to theshoenazi.com

    I published a test post and I got an email notif finally!
