• Hello Folks!
I “upgraded” to 2.8.2 and, as soon as I had I couldn’t get into admin to edit or whatever. I called hostgator. For some reason they insisted I re-name my plugin folder to plugin.bak (whatever that means or signifies)

So all my plugins sort of exploded. I went to upload replacements. It just doesn’t work!

Should I go to my backup I did before “upgrading” to 2.8.2 since everything worked.

Or should I stick with my new nightmare.

PS: Is there someone I can “hire” to fix my WP blog? Is it a good idea?

  • they had you rename the plugins directory because that was the cause of the “i couldnt get into admin ..” problem.

That action disabled all of your plugins.

You now need to rename the directory back to plugins.

THEN you can start activating your plugins, ONE BY ONE, until you determine which ones will and will not play nice with your freshly upgraded wordpress blog…

and you dont need to hire anyone, unless you feel like theres alot to be done, and youre not up to the learning curve, or if something is majorly broke.

    Hello whooami!

Thank you so much! I got it all fixed up and did not encounter any more bull.

Thanks to what you told me, I will sleep better tonight.

You can contact me anytime at [email protected] – I owe you one!

What section of the world do you reside in? I am in Eugene, Oregon – out in the woods. Turkeys, Deer, squirrels, birds, dogs, cats, raccoons, go past my window daily. Oh wait…Minnesota! I like Al Franken! And Garrison.

The turkeys and the squirrels are the most fun.

    Thanks again – Riley West – https://makinganinternetmarketer.com
