• This is one of those super long-shot, nearly impossible to diagnose problems.

I think there’s some combination of plugin voodoo on my site that occasionally crashes firefox (both mac and pc). Since it happens very infrequently (just enough that a few people have emailed me about it), it’s essentially impossible to diagnose by trial and error.

The long shot: Any browser/php/script experts out there see anything obviously conflicting in my site? In the header? Somewhere else? For all I know it’s a 3rd party thing.

I’m guessing it’s way too complicated to see just by glancing, but if anyone has a clue, I’m very grateful!

  • An intermittent browser crash is unlikely to be caused by invalid markup or CSS. It’s far more likely to be a script problem with JavaScript being right at the top of the list. All I can suggest is checking through all of your plugins & your theme looking for anything that is attempting to write to the displayed page.

How many plugins are you running?

about a dozen, I wish I could get rid of them, but without knowing php, you really can’t do much. I suspect headspace, disqus, and some of the ones that do things to the loading of the page. The main problem is it’s so intermittent that there’s no way to test – I can’t just turn off these plugins and let the site site there non-functional for days to see if no one complains. Alas….
