• This is an absolute mistake on wordpress’s behalf. There are visual editors for though who can’t code or understand front end development. Every website will end up looking the same and all like a cheap blog. How can we be web designers when we are so limited. I think it this rolls out and there is no backwards compatibility I’ll just move back to Joomla so I can create website with individuality.

If you don’t understand how to make a proper website use elementor, divi, beaver builder, thrive architect, visual basics or just use WIX.

@wordpress don’t let the minority of users who don’t understand how to build a website take away the flexibility and functionality that wordpress currently has.

  • Although I do want WordPress to maintain its freedom, if one believes that using Divi/Beaver Builder etc. means it is only for those who “don’t understand how ro create websites” or they’re “all going to look the same”, I’m not certain that individual knows what the builders are actually for.

One thing it’s worth noting is a lot of extensibility and customization will happen. Being able to create unique websites is a part of WordPress’ dna, that’s not going to change. The next few months are going to show the exciting potential and amazing things people are going to create using Gutenberg. Infact, it opens a lot of new potential for that customization.

I would like to know what Gutenberg brings to the table that I can already do with a page builder or custom code? Nothing that I’ve seen.

Gutenberg isn’t being driven by a small number of potential users, it’s being driven by the perception that the masses (the 75% of the market not using WordPress) want a Wix/Squarespace experience.

How about letting the whole of the WordPress community decide where this is heading, not Matt, Automatic and a small team of devs.
