I want to put a page that comes up before you come to the main blog, something that says, this site contains material for people aged 18 or over. Do you understand yadda yadda yadda, yes or no. If they click yes, it goes to the page, if they click no, it goes to like google or somehting.

    Any takers?

    Thanks!

  • Well first, everyone under 18 is automatically going to click yes anyway, so don’t count on it working as planned. You could probably do what you want one of two ways. First, make a page outside of your blog which does this. If (when) they click yes it would send you to the blogs index page. The other way to do this would be to use a plugin similar to THIS one, only you won’t be placing the checkbox under the editor, you’ll be placing it on the page that checks their age. If they click the checkbox then it would allow them to enter. If they don’t then it wouldn’t. The easiest way to do it would be the first option. It would basically just be your warning text and two links.

In admin, simply create a WP Page stating that information and then select “Options > Reading > Front page displays > A static page” and nominate that page name.
