I am asking you to roll back the UM plugin back to the version 2.6.0! You don’t have any rights to update the UM plugin on my website from the version 2.6.0 to 2.6.5 !

I have just received an email from whom exactly? www.ads-software.com? where they notified me about some automatic update; automatic updates are not enabled on my website.

I am not asking you for support, I am asking you not to mess with my website.

(Profiles and account not working in 2.6.5 anyway)

    Hi @zinkab

I think it’s related to security enhancements in 2.6.5 and version <= 2.6.5 may expose your website to major vulnerabilities. We do not run automatic updates on the plugin’s side but we highly recommend keeping the plugin updated to avoid vulnerabilities.

Please describe the issues that you have with 2.6.5 on account and profile pages.

    Best Regards!

    Mykita,

automatic updates on my website are disabled, I always update each plugin manually, and I update wordpress manually as I have been doing for the past 7 years.

Yesterday when I came back home around 5 pm, I saw that the website is broken again, profiles disappeared, and accounts. Then I noticed an email from wordpress sent at 1:49 pm about the automatic update for UM from 2.6.0 to 2.6.5, which was weird to me, because that is the first time that I received such an email. What triggered the email?

Went to the dashboard and saw that the UM plugin still shows version 2.6.0. Went to the hosting site, file manager, found UM, it showed version 2.6.5 and date 29/06/23 time 1:49. Went back to the dashboard and now the UM is showing version 2.6.5. I have not made the manual update, and the automatic update is always disabled. I have a question for you: Can you as plugin owners make such an update? Just want to learn something new.

As to the problems I have been experiencing, you can find all the details in the support questions under “block rendered empty”.

    Hello @zinkab

WordPress automatically updates the core WordPress software for?security?reasons.

Sometimes, it may also update a plugin or theme to fix a potential threat. For instance, a WordPress plugin or theme might be updated to remove a critical vulnerability. If that plugin or theme is used by a lot of websites, WordPress core team may push out an automatic update for that.

    Regards.

Thank you so much for your reply. I realised that very quickly. The thing is that there is no point in hiding that. And if I had not written what I did, you would still pretend you know nothing about it.

    Hello @zinkab

Sorry, but we don’t decide when to do the security update, the wordress does.

    Can I close this topic?

    Regards.
