I want to cache my pages to avoid Google Crawler always hitting the origin
-
Hi,
I’ve enabled Super Page Cache on a rather large site (250,000+ posts).
The main purpose for me was to optimize Cloudflare caching so that Cloudflare serves the pages to Google Crawler instead of having Google constantly pinging and overloading the original (I get A LOT of daily crawls from Google and I can’t reduce the crawling pace, except by submitting a manual request to Google, but this could impact my indexing).
The problem is that, when I check the header of the pages of my site in the Inspect / Network tab, I get X-Cache:MISS for all pages, which means that the origin server needs to be pinged to get the pages.
How can I further optimize caching to serve pages to Google from Cloudflare, not from the origin server?
Bearing in mind that I’m using Elementor templates and ACF on most of my pages to display content from the DB. So the setup should not break the pages.
I hope you can help.
Cheers,
Frédérick
PS: my site is hosted on Cloudways and I’m on the free plan at Cloudflare.
