I want to create a new WordPress blog with my old domain

  • Hi,

    I already have a website in WordPress, but since a few months ago I have some issues with the site- it seems like it’s been hacked, when you open it, you’re transferred to another spam page and you have to reload the page in order to get to the blog.

    I’ve tried everything with both my web designer and hosting company and no one can get rid of the problem. So, I was thinking that I want to create a new website with new design and everything, but still use the same domain. But, as I try to create a new blog and I type in the name I already have, it says “blog with this domain already exists” and I can’t even get started.

    Is there any option for me to transfer the domain to another wordpress site and how do I do that? I prefer to start over and this time I won’t use web designer, because they locked my access to almost everything and I can’t change a think, if I don’t pay them to do it, I’d like to do it alone.

    Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.

    Thank you for the reply. But does that mean I cannot create a new WordPress site and transfer my domain? Because that’s what I really wanna do. As I explained I’m not able to do changes now.
