I want your font

Speaking of Georgia … how come when at work (or on a PC other than my home machine) the font displays nice and “smooth” and beautiful … but at home it looks “pixelated” or slightly jagged around the edges? In apps like Photoshop it looks fine but when viewing a web page that uses Georgia it comes out looking like the latter description? Any ideas? My monitor?

Where in the CSS files do I have to edit to get it show up?

in my personal experience font works better than font-family…
but then i am not that great at css…

‘Times New Roman’

“font” is just a descriptor that can be used to describe all the properties of a font in one statement. Using font-family you can describe only the font family. Both should work equally well to describe the font family used, I guess.

The reason it might appear smooth on one computer and jagged on another has to do with the anti-aliasing settings. In Windows XP, try right clicking on your desktop > Properties > Appearance > Effects > and then check the box that says smooth screen fonts. Use cleartype if you have a LCD monitor.
