I wanted this to work on Version 2 before Version 3 gets out but nothing happene

    I activated this plugin at 9:45 am on June 20. The status said “There are currently 37 expired events (this includes remnants of deleted events). Garbage collection takes place once a day – so changes may not be instant.”

    I have Enable garbage collection checked
    and Expiry criteria is all expired events.

    It is now 1:11 am on June 22 and it still hasn’t run. I still have “There are currently 37 expired events (this includes remnants of deleted events). Garbage collection takes place once a day – so changes may not be instant.”

    Hi sleeplessinDC – there are a few possibilities here.

    First is the possibility that scheduled events can’t be run in the case of your WordPress installation – and if that is the problem here then there isn’t much I can do to help, I’m afraid, as you would need to reconfigure your hosting environment to accommodate scheduled tasks (often by allowing loopbacks).

    Second is the possibility that the expiry criteria simply isn’t being met and, third, is the possibility that there is a bug. It could indeed be a combination of these things.

    My bat-sense suggests the problem is likely to be the first of those – in which case you’ll need to dive into some configuration work or seek the help of your web hosting provider. You could also consider waiting until 3.0 is released and then try the current version of the plugin at that point (and see if that resolves this) or else clean up manually/find an alternative solution.

    I’m guessing you’ve moved on to greater and better things by the lack of any response but since a hosting issue (where scheduled tasks cannot run) is likely to be at the root of this I will mark this as resolved.

    If anyone else experiences this (or if you do want any further help sleeplessinDC) please just open a new thread.
