What I see as a plugin developer:

    • Someone submits a translation
    • I have to ask the guy be added as a TE
    • No response
    • Sometimes, the guy is added as a TE
    • This has taken so long the guy has disappeared or lost interest
    • I’m stuck with a bunch of strings I’m not allowed to approve

    And the continuation:

    • Someone else says they can help approve the strings
    • I have to ask, again, for the new guy be added as a TE
    • No response

A far better solution would be for the plugin author to be able to accept all translations as he deems fit. It’s his plugin after all, right?

    Hi,
You are missing the first step: ‘…you are good to go for moving trunk to a new stable.’
Your /trunk (so dev) is now correctly internationalized, however your v43.2 (so stable) is not. So first thing to do is to create a 43.3 or 44.0 with your updates. At that moment you will see the strings also ready for translation in stable.

I just want to add that it’s a choice to make: Deal with translations yourself or count on the power of the community. It’s a bit of work in the beginning, but once setup correctly people start translating your plugin in languages you did not handle before.

    I’ve now uploaded v43.3.

So what now? I have to ask to become TE for all languages separately, and then wait for each acceptance?

From what I see, you are already a validator for de_DE and sv_SV and somebody is already handling pt_BR.

You can follow the FAQ article I posted above to indicate people that already helped or are willing to help you with the translation (like Laurent for fr_FR) or any others.

Have a look at https://make.www.ads-software.com/polyglots to see how the others make requests.

Marking as resolved and hoping everything still works.
