Icegram plugin compatibility

Morning Alex;
Had a quick look at your site; Icegram loads it’s CSS using JavaScript instead of through “normal” <link rel="stylesheet"> or <style> tags. This way AO indeed cannot aggregate the CSS to the autoptimized CSS.

thanks for the hint, I have removed the JS and got a slightly better score.

I use the “inline critical CSS” option and critical css generator.

And the second one is https://fonts.googleapis.com/…Open+Sans+Condensed:300,700&subset=latin

I have the “Remove Google Fonts” checkbox checked, however the link is still in place. Could you please give me your expert advice in this? Thanks!

seems like the critical CSS is not sufficient to render the page in that case. getting that right can be … difficult. moreover sometimes GPSI simply mis-reports CSS as being render blocking, so …

“remove google fonts” only removes Google Font CSS-files (which your site has one of), but not the JS-code that can also be used (which your site has as well). Now what surprises me is that Google states this is render blocking, as WebFontLoader typically is asynchronous (so not render-blocking).

2 things to try;
* add WebFontConfig to your AO JS optimization exclusion list
* if that does not work, you can try this code (in code snippets) to also remove the JS google font code;

Hi Frank, thanks for helping me! This question is a bit off topic, however I hope you will point me to the right direction.

Could you please advice how I can compress https://staticxx.facebook.com/connect/xd_arbiter.php
as it’s not hosted on my website? I suggest this is a pretty common question, and maybe there is a common workaround, however I couldn’t google anything useful.
