  • I had this too – empty boxes instead of icons.

I looked at the CSS, and it’s trying to target .simple-social-icons to style the links. Yet, looking at the source, the widget didn’t generate anything with that class name. So I had to manually go into my template and add a class=”simple-social-icons” to the parent element.

    Shoddy work!

The reason the icons aren’t being shown properly is that your theme uses custom widget classes.

If you have the ability to have the simple-social-icons class added to the footer widget they would show correctly.

Otherwise you will need to add the SSI CSS to your theme style sheet targeting that widget.

*Scratches head* How do I add a that class, code-wise. I think I know where to put it, but what do I insert?

I’m with creativerse….am bound to break something….ughh…whyyy!? How?!

    Thanks
