icons dont showup on desktop

Hello
I have placed the social media icon groups in the footer widget of my website. When I open the website either in chrome/firefox on a desktop the icons are missing. However, when I load the website on mobile android using either chrome/firefox they appear!!. I have tried to clear the cache on the desktop browsers but to no avail. Still strange when I place the social media subscription widget, they appear in both desktop and mobile. Please advise. I even uninstalled and then installed the plugin, still the same problem.
