    Hi,

PDF files and images from a single year have disappeared on this website that I’m working on.

I just took over fixing the errors, and so am not sure what happened to the actual files. But they appear as unbroken icon docs in the media library – even when logged in to Jetpack in the media library – they’re all solid. But clicking on them brings me to the 404 error page.

When I view the links in the inspector, I see the source listed as https://i2.wp.com…etc and wonder if there’s a way to access these files that used to all be up – somewhere in Jetpack?

I am guessing the answer is no. But thought I’d ask before searching various archival databases and various hard drives.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @beatty67

I’ve taken a look at the page you provided, and I found that it was a good example that represents the issue you’ve encountered.

It seems that there’s a broken image there that’s being fetched from our servers with the https://i2.wp.com link; however, I’ve confirmed that the image isn’t available on your server anymore, that’s why it wasn’t picked up by our CDN after a while.

The image needs to be available on the original source (your site) to stay cached by our servers, so you may want to look into your databases and hard drives to upload it again to your site’s media.

    Best,

Hi Mehdi @muffinpeace – Thanks for your quick reply. I shall indeed endeavor to search elsewhere for the missing media.
