I just updated to 1.0.8 and the icon graphics no longer appear. I tried to reset in button settings and they only show as boxes. Do I have to load another file? Thanks.

I deactivated all my plugins one at a time in case there was a conflict. I deleted and reinstalled the sticky side buttons plugin but still had the same issue (it also still had my original setting even though I deactivated and deleted it). Still no icons, just boxes. Then I installed the plugin 1.0.8 on another site of mine that had a similar setup and it worked ok icons were fine.
I think maybe something happened during the update process.

The same thing is happening to my site.

Oh no! Sorry to hear this folks. Could you all please share links to affected page so I can see? Or screenshot if that’s not possible?

The update upgraded FontAwesome4 to FontAwesome5. The icons are different in v5 so the upgrade included a migration script that is meant to fix those icons which are different so they don’t break. Sounds like there’s a flaw with that. Can fix it if you can show me which are the broken icons?

    Thanks.

PS. A manual fix will be to go into wp-admin > Sticky Side Buttons > Settings > and re-select the icon for the affected buttons.

    Issue solved
    Thanks…………….

The manual fix will fix it retrospectively, but I’d really like to solve this in the plugin for everyone. Can someone please share a link or screenshot so I can see which icons are affected?

    I’m missing the following Icons:

    fas fa-envelope-o
    fas fa-facebook
    fas fa-twitter
    fas fa-google-plus
    fas fa-rss
    fas fa-linkedin
    fas fa-instagram
    fas fa-youtube-play

    Hi,
I had removed the plugin from the site I had the issue with (to allow for others to edit) so I could not send a link. I reinstalled it today and most of the icons are there now (these are the same icons I had tried yesterday). I did not apply the fix and the fas-fa-adn was still showing up as a box. I reset the icon and it displays correctly now (using fab-fa-adn). I tried some other random icons as tests, and they all seem to be working now… thank you for your prompt attention.

I am also having the issue where the icons show up as squares: https://crestlineautotransport.com

When I tried to manually update the icons, my changes are not being saved. I reverts back to what was in there before.

Hi Maeve—here’s a link for you to take a look:

The manual fix didn’t work for me.

    Thanks!

Thanks for providing the links folks – really appreciated. Taking a look today to see what can be done to fix this in the plugin. Thanks for your patience and sorry for the trouble!

    Hi,

    same problem here,
each time I choose the button icon, it looks normal but when I save and check, it still uses “fas” before “fa-envelope” and it doesn’t work. So it is not using fa-envelope but still fas fa-envelope.

thank you for your attention ??
