icons not displaying

  • The icons are displaying a rectangle with 4 tiny letters instead of the correct icon. I’ve seen solutions involving clearing caching plugins, but I’m not using one on this site. (This is a staging site, not the live site.)

    I’m having the same issue and not using a cache plugin either. I tried disabling all plugins one at a time and still can’t get to the bottom of it. My icons are displaying for all my pages but my home-page. Can anyone help?!

    I was able to solve this. I had code in my functions.php file that was left over from an earlier version of Simple Social Icons. When I deleted this, the problem went away. I hope this helps you!

    I’m actually seeing an error code that looks like it’s the problem. However, I don’t understand what it means and where I’d need to fix it. Does anyone else??

    Unsafe attempt to load URL https://thevirtualmarketer.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/simple-social-icons/symbol-defs.svg from frame with URL https://www.thevirtualmarketer.co.uk/. Domains, protocols and ports must match.

    Actually, I see now if I go to my homepage and include the https://www the icons don’t load. If I don’t include the https://www they do! Does anyone know a way around this? When I redirect the page it says too many redirects.

    Sorry for the multiple updates. Shows what a novice I am ?? The redirection seems to work so not having an issue now except in incognito view which doesn’t redirect. Is that normal?
