ICS Calendar: looking for simple explanations

  • Can you give me simple instructions on installing this calendar? I’ve done steps #1-2 fine but #3, I have no clue.

    1. Upload ‘ics-import’ folder to your plugins folder, usually wp-content/plugins.
    2. Activate the plugin on the Plugins screen.
    3. Place the following on a page (not post): [show-ics-events] or [show-ics-events=num_events] (for events list) [show-ics-calendar] (for new calendar)
    4. You can also use the widget in your sidebar.

    How do I put [show-ics-calendar] (for new calendar) in a page? In the code? In the visual? What page?

    I guess I’m still a newbie and need easy, detailed step-by-step instructions.

    Also, will this calendar not work if I decide to upgrade to 2.6?

    OK. I guess if you stick with the issue long enough, you can figure things out yourself…

    When placing [show-ics-calendar] in a page you create it will show up as the text you typed in the both visual and the html code. You won’t actually see a calendar, which is what I was expecting.

    You don’t see the calendar until you publish and view it online. Duh, on my part.
