The new feature of checking my texts for readiblity just doesn’t work for my websites. Please, add an option to turn it off. I’m already tired of seeing a big red “Content: Bad” in my editor.

The style of my websites kind of determines that every single one of my post will be rated as “Bad”, especially on my German magazine website. “Flesch Reading Easy test” and “transition words” just don’t work like that for me. Usually around 50% of my sentences contain “more than 20 words” – that’s just how the style of my website works! Why are you marking this red when it’s actually perfectly fine? I don’t see ANY value in this feature except of bugging me every single time I’m opening the editor.

    Thank you so much.

  • I would like to second the comments of dreejavu in the strongest possible words. Get rid of the red Y icon followed by “Content: Bad” at the bottom of the “publish” area of all post and page edit screens. And while you’re at it also get rid of the gray Y icon followed by “SEO: Not available” directly below it. I am not questioning whether or not those may be good advice or not. I just don’t have time to evaluate those suggestions and I don’t want to see them there, where they are extremely irritating to see. If you are determined to show those, put them in the “Yoast SEO” area of post and page edit screens. With them in the “Yoast SEO” area, where I can either scroll them out of sight, click the arrow next to “Yoast SEO” to hide the entire “Yoast SEO” area, or change “Screen Options” at the top of the edit screen to disable display of the “Yoast SEO” area completely. But where you have those now, there is no way to hide those in any way. And my fellow seven administrators on my website (who don’t even know what “Yoast SEO” means) are becoming increasingly annoyed with messages which say their pages and posts are “Bad”.

Hi d5f7p9! Please submit a separate thread so we can help each individual. Thanks!

    Hi dreejavu!

You won’t be able to turn off the content analysis feature of WordPress unless you disable the entire Yoast SEO metabox for your post, pages, and custom post types.

You can disable the Yoast SEO metabox from posts, pages, and custom post types from SEO > Titles & Metas > Post Types tab in your WordPress admin. For each area of posts, pages, and custom post types, there is a toggle feature to hide the Yoast SEO metabox.

If you would like the feature to be able to still have the Yoast SEO metabox enabled, but the content analysis tool disabled, you can submit a feature request at:
