I think I have seen this kind of method, probably in spam karma, or probably on another anti-spam plugin.

I’m currently working on a anti span plugin. It uses security images you all have seen on registration pages where you have to enter a random letters before the the comment is submitted.

Don’t give up because of that, especially if you have already put some work into it. I don’t seem any harm being done by having a fifth captcha plugin. Sure, it would add to the redundancy, but someone may prefer to use your captcha plugin over the other four.

more captcha implementations are never a bad thing if they’re done right. gudlyf’s captcha (the first one) has long since been compromised.

Gudlyf’s third captcha has not been compromised yet, but it is also “not always human-solvable.” This, in my opinion, is a major downfall with most of the captchas that I encounter on a day-to-day basis. In my opinion, captchas are an inconvenience to the end user, but YMMV.

Especially to those of us who are slightly color-blind – Captcha implementors should be keel hauled. ??
