Idea push is really cool, but it currently feels like an internal support ticketing system rather than a voting system for listening to what users think and want.

It comes with the following default status names:
open, reviewed, approved, declined, in progress, completed

Changing a status of a post to anything different than ‘open’ removes it from the main page / main view. Why?
I think it’s important that users that voted for a post should always see it (except maybe for ‘done’ and ‘declined/deleted’). Seeing that something they voted on is in progress is great. Why hide that?
And even Done would be important to see, so they don’t repeat their questions.

I know that the statuses can be renamed, but just the idea of how they are named by default really sounds like a ticketing system.

    Hi @kaizerco,

Thanks for your comments and feedback. IdeaPush can be used as both! We try to provide features for people who want an idea suggestion system and a ticketing system and we have users in the field using the plugin successfully for both purposes, including myself.

There are heaps of ways the plugin can be customised to suit your specific needs, I recommend reading through the FAQ as it provides a good grounding in the plugin.

For example if you are running a ticketing system or an idea suggestion system the goal is to get good ideas selected, approved and implemented. Based on user feedback most users wanted to display just open tickets/ideas because they are ideas that are still pending user action e.g. what value is it to show completed ideas to new users, it’s best to show them the hot current ideas as these will more likely be related to their concerns.

However there’s nothing stopping you changing the default status displayed to all statuses which can be done via a simple query string and this is talking about in the plugin FAQ, you can do something like this: https://mywebsite.com/mypage/?status=all-statuses and this will show all statuses.

I get your point. OK. I’ll go over the FAQ. Thanks. This is all very helpful!
