ideal featured image size?

    What is the ideal image size (or proportion) to use for featured image. I do realise they are cropped as per grid on the grid page (as per number of columns set),

    But for just a single post, what would be a good recommended size?

    It would be good if you would prepare your featured images in identical dimensions. On demo website we are using 1200×800 but you can use even larger ones.
