Identifying account

Hi All,

Random question, but my business was taken over by another one a few years ago and our company website stopped being used. I’ve been tasked (as someone with minimal knowledge of WordPress or websites) with getting back up and running again as anyone who knew anything about it / had login credentials has left the organization. Currently there is just a 404 response on the webpage and I’m trying to find out if it’s still an active account or if I need to set up a new on, if so how do I claim the old URL?

Any guidance in the right direction would be much appreciated!
