IE 6 and 7 WYSIWYG Challenges

  • I have been having some issues with Internet Explorer and the WYSIWYG in WP 2.3, specifically dealing with images.

    The image upload has been working fine, but once I send the image to the editor, click on the tree icon to add a border/alignment/hspace etc. The editor shrinks the image to 1×1 and adds a second image.

    I was curious if anyone else has had this problem and if they have figured out a solution. I browsed through the forum for a while but could not find anything relevant.

    Once again, the image upload works fine. Sending it to the editor works fine. But once in the editor, if you select the image and click on the tree icon to edit the image’s alignment/border/spacing, the editor spits out a second identical image and forces a 1×1 dimension on it.

  • I have this problem too – I think it was in version 2.2 that it started, so I thought (hoped!) that it might be fixed by now. I “solved” it by not clicking on the tree, just by selecting the image and clicking on the left or right align buttons to align the image. That does not solve the problem of being able to add spacing or borders.

    I have the same problem as well, and this could be a show-stopper for me implementing a WordPress powered site for a client (that insists on using IE). I have come close to pulling my hair out doing multiple Google searches on this topic to no solution..

    I suggest upgrading to Firefox.

    Or you can select the image and slightly adjust the image sizing, this will define the image dimensions, so ie does not redefine the image size as 1×1.

    Hope they plan on updating this trivial issue soon.
