IE browser issue with twentyeleven

there is this line at the very start of the html output in the browser:

which is also cause of the error report of the site validation: https://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.christredeemerchurch.net%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

if you don’t know from what plugin that might come from, start by deactivating all plugins to see if that solves the display problem; if it does, reactivate one plugin at a time to identify the problematic one; otherwise you can just reactivate the plugins.

I just noticed that the navigation shows up with the hard coded header.php file but the drop downs aren’t there. Any ideas on that issue?

I fixed the plug in and the image in one of the widget was blowing out the sidebar and defaulting to the bottom.
