• Hi everyone,

I’m having a weird issue that only occurs in IE (surprise.. surprise.) I had hard coded some links in the header file, which looks fine in every other browser. But when I use IE, the site looks fine but the links are not links. They render as plain text.

    The site is https://www.anthonylaurence.net

I thought that there might be an issue with layering with the z-index, so I a conditional statement to give it a z-index of 4 so that it should be the topmost layer. But no dice…..

Does anyone have a clue what the issue is and how to fix it?

  • What links?

In the header, the links are for Home, Portfolio, Blog, and Services. If you look at it in IE it treats it like regular text but if you use any other browser they’re links.

They’re working fine for me in IE8.

Thanks Esmi, that’s good to know. I tried in IE 8 and 9 and had issues in both. I did make some changes, but didn’t have a chance to check it in IE8, just 9. And 9 doesn’t recognize them as links.

I guess I get to fill out another error report…. ??

    Thanks again!

IE9 is still in beta! It’s not suitable for testing sites yet.

Yeah I know…. but it’s odd that it would recognize the links in the blogroll but not in the header. I mean, a link is a link. It was an “Uhhh… now what?!” kinda moment.
