• I have been, for the last hour, trying to figure out why the h1 tagged headings have different margins or padding in the same CSS environment.

    The site is https://www.blogtap.net and if you look on the frontpage the long horizontal teaser divs in the middle assigned the class “teaseralt_color” have headings that are flush against the end of the previous div.

    I have examined and re-examined the CSS and PHP to look for a possible explanation but have not had any success. I even try giving the headings a margin or padding but they won’t budge! It’s like they are stuck or something … Another thing odd is that when I outline headings with the Firefox web developer add on, the headings in “teaseralt_color” somehow extend into the previous div even though they are not at all nested there. What could possibly be causing that !? It’s driving me crazy. Please come to my rescue!

  • divs teasermiddle and teaseralt_color are supposed to be identical except for the background color, but their are not.

    add float: left to div teaseralt_color

    div.teaseralt_color {
    	width: 560px;
    	float: left;
    	padding:10px 20px;
            background-color: #FFF;
    	 }

    @axel, wow I can’t believe that float affected the header like that. Can you explain what the float did exactly to cause it to act like that?

    Thanks
