Hi. The if/else function for automations isn’t really clearly described in the manual.

For instance “Email- clicked count” what does that mean compared do “Email – opened cound”?

    Hello there @jonas_op,

Thank you for reaching out with your questions regarding our automation’s if/else function. I understand that the documentation might not provide the clarity you were hoping for, particularly concerning the “Email – clicked count” vs. “Email – opened count.” Allow me to explain these terms more thoroughly to help you make the most of your email automations.

The “Email – clicked count” refers to the number of times recipients have clicked on any link within a specific email. This metric is crucial for assessing the engagement level of your content. When you use this criterion in an if/else condition, you’re effectively segmenting your audience based on their interaction level. For example, you could set up an automation to send a follow-up email to subscribers who clicked on a link in your email (showing high engagement) versus those who didn’t.

The “Email – opened count” measures how many times an email was opened by the recipients. This metric gives you a general idea of how appealing your email subject line and sender name are, as these are the primary factors influencing open rates. Similarly, when used in an if/else condition within your automation, it allows you to differentiate between those who have shown initial interest in your email by opening it and those who have not.

In practical terms, here’s how you might use these in automations:

    • If/Else Condition Based on Clicks: If you’re running a promotional campaign, you could create an automation that sends a different follow-up depending on whether the subscriber clicked on the product link. “If email clicked count > 0, then send a special offer; else, send a reminder about the offer.”
    • If/Else Condition Based on Opens: For a newsletter, you might want to re-engage subscribers who didn’t open the first email. “If email opened count = 0, then send a re-engagement email; else, continue with the regular email sequence.”

Both metrics are invaluable for tailoring your email marketing strategy to fit the behavior and preferences of your subscribers, ensuring more personalized and effective communications.Going Further

I hope this explanation clarifies the functions and how you can leverage them for more targeted and engaging email automations. If you have any more questions about our automation features or need further assistance with setting up your email campaigns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Our team is more than happy to help you navigate these features to ensure you’re getting the best results from your email marketing efforts.

    Cheers!
