I tried moving my WP from a sub-directory to the root directory (wwwroot). It’s not working. I’m willing to delete all the files in the wwwroot directory and reinstall the newest version of WP, but I want to make certain I won’t affect my data. I don’t think so.

I’m recording my wp-config.php settings, and this sounds like it will work, but I want to hear from someone knowledable first.

  • Your data in the database will be fine, but anything in your wp-content directory will be lost of you delete that…primarily uploaded files and custom themes.

I kept my themes, but what type of files? Can you please give me an example?

What I meant by I kept my themes is that I have them on my personal PC.

The problem is that I tried moving WP from a sub directory to the root and my page is not showing up? I’m able to enter the web address wp-admin/admin.php and see the login page, after I login, I see a white screen?
