If I rename the prefix to my custom metaboxes…

I am about to develop a new theme for a client, but they have three custom metaboxes triggered by theme_clients, theme_numbers, etc. So the $prefix is theme, and each metabox is _clients, _numbers, and so forth.

I have all the post meta data saved and exported, so I can reimport when finished, but my question is…

if I put the old metabox code back, so everything is back to theme_clients, theme_numbers, and import all the post data, it’ll be restored back to where it should be.

If I then go and in the functions change the prefix of the metaboxes to something else, will I then lose all that post metabox data from the previous boxes?

I basically just want to be able to rename the prefix for the metaboxes, without actually losing the metabox data already there.
