    Polylang should not play with character encoding. Everything should be done by WordPress. Where is this wrongly encoded string?

    Ah in plugin words of tabs “Translations” & “Settings” shows me “Tekstu tulko??ana” & “Uzst??d??jumi”
    Instead it should be “Tekstu tulko?ana” & “Uzstādījumi”.
    Other words also are gibberish.
    1.) Need screenshot ?
    or
    2.) you will try lv.mo file in languages and IN config.php put lv in define(‘WPLANG’, ‘lv’);

    OK. I see. That’s the translation file of Polylang which is corrupted. I don’t know when and how it occurred. But you can get correct encoded files in version 0.8.10.

    It should be here: https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/polylang.0.8.10.zip but I can’t check now as it seems that the server has some issues.

    Just replace the file polylang/languages/polylang-lv.mo of your install by the one found in 0.8.10.

    Of course I will correct the issue with the next release.

    The correct polylang-lv.mo file is now in 1.2.1
