If no sticky posts make latest sticky?

  • Hi!

    I’m working on a site who depends on sticky posts to change the design of the post. Could I display the latest post as sticky if no posts are set as sticky somehow?

    In bullet points:

    • Latest post show up as sticky if no other post is set as sticky
    • Changing the class of first post and design that won’t work if I want to highlight anything that’s not the latest post.
    • If possible – set the amount of sticky posts to display

    If there’s an easy solution to this, I’d really appreciate it. Feel like it would be easier than to add another loop for a “sticky” category who only shows up 1 post or something like that.
