My website is extremely slow right now. It takes around 4 or 5 seconds to load. I’ve looked up a variety of web optimization tactics which seem helpful, but they only deal with the front end i.e image compression, plugin reduction etc. My wp-admin page is just as slow, and when I run the website on my local host it could be faster, but is significantly faster than the online version. I am currently using GoDaddy as my web server. Does this sound like a problem with the server or backend? If so what steps should I take to fixing it or what documentation should I consult?

  • Many things can cause this, you can certainly talk with your hoster and the plan you are using (cheap server) and also see if you have many plugins installed and their status (needing updating or not)
