• my client is having problems keeping his iFrame code to stay on the page. I have informed him that he shouldn’t switch between the VISUAL and TEXT editor of the pages, fearing it may gum everything up. But I watched him recreate the issue and it’s the weirdest thing I have ever seen.

He’ll paste in his iFrame code into the Content Editor is TEXT mode, click UPDATE and when the page refreshes, the code is gone!

I tried on my end, but could NOT recreate the problem.

I asked him about which browser he is using, and he is currently using Firefox, but he has seen this issue in Chrome, and he avoids IE like the plague.

I have disabled the visual editor when editing for him in his user profile, plus I have double checked that the “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” is UNCHECKED.

I’m stumped. Anyone have any ideas on other settings I can check, or if I need to talk to the server admin about permissions.

I use the forum as a last resort effort. If I can’t figure it out, then surely the WordPress Forums will be able to.

Yes I tried deactivating all plugins

I am having the same problem. Embedding YouTube videos on a page (actually any page as I have tested it with 4 of them), and as soon as someone visits the page, the embed code is deleted and a entry is made in the revisions list with no author.

Strange thing is, this only happens on Pages and not Posts. Also, an old page that I have not edited since version 3.4.x has embed code that is still working.

Running WP 3.6 and have disabled all plug-ins. Have recreated this error over and over again.

Confirming existence of the problem (2 computers in different parts of the world, latest version)

The problem appears for Author level users and does not – for Admin.

Please post your own topic. This thread is referencing WP3.5.2 which is no longer current.

Do you really think, that we need a new topic for the same problem, which appears in versions 3.5.1, 3.5.2, 3.6, 3.6.2 ?

    Problem solved by:

    1) Installing User Role Editor
    2) Activating unfiltered_html in Author role
    3) Deactivating Plugin

So, I really don’t know what it was and why it happened in clean install, but now it works ??

    Bingo!

Yes, I do think a new topic is warranted as per

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post

Just wanted to shed some more light on this:

Unfiltered html for roles other than the super admin will (most likely) never happen, for the reasons outlined in the plugin description: “Any user could add Javascript code to steal the login cookies of any visitor who runs a blog on the same site. The rogue user can then inpersonate any of those users and wreak havoc.” Just recently we had another prove of that in r21774.
