IImage Gallery and Markdown conflicting

When I have IImage Gallery installed, Markdown will not convert all instances of markup to html. IImageBrowser does not do this. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this and if they found a way to make the two play together (not that I need iimage browser, but it was pretty nifty; I don’t need a more dedicated gallery plugin, much less an entire gallery application).
