    Hi,
As I imagine that you are working hard to make this plugin the best among all plugin forms, I’ll not leave you a bad review but I’m very dissapointed. All the promotional description that you put on your plugin seems to be really great for me and for several uses that I was planning to incorporate. But after the installation, everything seemed to be normal when building a simple form, then I wanted to add a captcha to my contact form and I was allowed to add only 2 specific types of plugins captcha: Hcaptcha and Google ReCaptcha (There are several Google Recaptcha plugins out there). The problem is that I already configured my site with a different captcha. Even knowing that I decided to install a new Google ReCaptcha, and I started to guess and test which of all the Google Recaptcha could it be the right one, because your documentation doesn’t specify which one of them I should use.

And after installing the Advanced Google Recaptcha plugin to test it I simultaneously updated your Plugin Form, because I received the notification of a new version, and this update I guess, it broke your plugin dashboard and I couldn’t see anymore what I was seeing before in order to build a simple form. The right scroll bar suddenly dissapeared and I couldn’t scroll down to see the other links on the plugin menu.

So, to simplify, the description of this plugin sounds really great and almost perfect for all my needs! But I’m not sure if when developing a rich and complex tool like this, you are risking to have dozens of conflicts with other plugins, themes or websites.

I’m not programmer but I imagine that you should find a clearly way to separate the functionalities of your software in order to simplify the complexity in blocks. I’m just guessing.

    So, good luck!
I hope you could do the things better than now!
    Regards

    Hi @romonoutic

I hope you are doing well.

Thank you for taking the time to write the feedback.

    – Captcha field:

At this moment we only include the hCaptcha and Google Captcha, those are the most popular ones and which does a good job in the protection, I can see there is a request for Local Captcha for example a simple Math solution, and also Friendly Captcha, in case you are looking for any specific solution feel free to let us know and we can forward this to our developers.

But it is important to say, a Captcha field can help but it is not bulletproof, we don’t include in our documentation which one is the correct because there is no correct field, it is important to check both provide and decide which one would fit in your needs, the same will be applied when we extend adding more captcha providers.

As I said, those are not bulletproof, so Forminator also includes extra protection options for your:

    – honeypot protection and Akismet integration https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#security
    – Also CleanTalk protection https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#cleantalk-anti-spam

We understand how important is to have a secure site and for extra protection, we also have a security plugin for free, the Defender plugin which includes a Bot protection module: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/defender/#user-agent-banning

Sorry to hear it, it is not expected for the update to break the site, as you said, there are a lot of plugins and themes, so we need to take a deeper look at why the issue is happening.

By “Your plugin dashboard”, are you referring Forminator dashboard or WPMU DEV dashboard plugin?

The best test on those cases is:

    – Reinstall the plugin, and check if the issue persists
    – If so, create a Staging site, you can use this plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-staging/
    – in the Staging do a Full conflict test following this workflow: https://wpmudev.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Support-Process-Support-Process.gif
    – Make sure PHP and WordPress is also updated, we suggest PHP 7.4 or 8.0 and always using an updated WordPress version.

In case it is happening when two plugins are enabled we will be happy to find out which is causing the problem and see if the conflict is on the Forminator side.

I hope the above explained a bit and feel free to let us know if you have any additional information or questions.
    Best Regards
