“illegal characters” in custom field

Hi, i wanted to add a custom field to let the people be able to provide a web link, e.g. to their company website or social media profile. you may ask yourself why someone would do this when he wants to book a seat. you may know from my previous support requests that i am building up a crowdfunding campaign for our animal sanctuary and i use Seatreg as a tool to let people be able to buy a virtual piece of land. their names will be places on a Hall of Fame on our website, and that’s why i wanted to let them add their web link to their booking so we can add their links to the Hall of Fame too.

However, i get an “illegal characters detected” error for the custom field when people submit their registration. I think that this could be avoided by modifying your RegEx in your validateInput function, right? Do you think it could be a security issue to your plugin if i add / . and : to your RegEx?
