illegal string offset / image uploader not working

  • my website was working fine until a week ago when an illegal string offset error occured.
    it states:

    “illegal string offset “ID” in plugins/advanced-custom-fields-pro/api-field-group.php on line 330″

    and for various features such as “title” “key” “menu order” “active” for 5 other lines.

    As well as this, the image uploader will not load – the loading wheel just shows and I can not add media content to the website.
    I have read several threads pertaining to this problem and have not been able to resolve the issues with my site.

    So far I have

    – Updated all plugins
    – Reinstalled wordpress v 4.4.2
    – deactivated each plugin and reactivated individually to detect where the issue stems from

    as the error message implies it looks like it’s coming from Advance fields pro plugin, can anyone advise adjustments I need to make to the code for this?
