• Live traffic showing my logins as a bot. My hands do look somewhat metallic, but I’m fairly sure I’m human. Frustrated. MTN

  • How can you be sure? Maybe you’ve been assimilated…

    Hi @mountainguy2,

The latest release (7.0.5) includes a fix for this.

Are you still experiencing the issue after updating?

Yes, it’s showing my login as bot in Live Traffic. Silly, and the big bot bug icon is insulting my intelligence, what little is left of it, anyway. MTN

    Hi @mountainguy2,

Can you confirm if the problem still occurs for both new and regular visitors (IPs) regardless of the user agent?

    (@mountainguy2)

Well, my Live Traffic has never shown a hit to be “Human” (Live Activity is disabled)

In my case, when I login my user agent is shown to be:

Browser: Chrome version 0.0 running on Win7
    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.167 Safari/537.36

I search on “Registered Users” is shows those of us who are logged in as admins as bots.

Confusing. Perhaps plugin WPS Hide Login is conflicting, BUT I’m seeing NO other human traffic, it’s all bots. If Wordfence is conflicting with WPS Hide Login, WPS was working fine with Wordfence before ver 7, so I’d put the responsibility for incompatibility on Wordfence not WPS Hide Login, if any finger pointing is required.

Not sure I’m up for disabling either Wordfence or WPS for testing, as that’s my security stack and I’m always under major attack by the criminal bot swarm.

    Hi @mountainguy2,

In another topic my colleague Tim suggested this could be related to JavaScript files being cached.

Have you tried clearing any cache you might have?

    Thread Starter mountainguy2

    (@mountainguy2)

Thanks for attempting to help. I cleared, Google Chrome, and rebooted computer, I search for “Humans” in live traffic and come up with nothing. I search for “Registered Users” and it shows admins as bots. Not sure how much time I’ve got to figure this out, overall does not inspired confidence in Wordfence. MTN

    Any update on this?
I’m seeing this on multiple sites and hadn’t noticed it until today. Doesn’t appear to effect functionality. Not sure when it stopped working.

I’m seeing this as well, and I just updated to Wordfence 7.1.0. As suggested, I cleared my browser cache. I also cleared WP Super Cache in WordPress. No change.

I have Live Traffic logging turned off, so I can see login and firewall activity. Even though my logins and logouts show up in the log, the left column shows me as “Type: Bot” with the bug icon. This is true even when choosing “Registered Users” from the “Filter Traffic” drop-down menu.

Funny that Wordfence has a bug when it shows the bug.

Still doing it for me. Wordfence ver 7, just so wonderful. MTN

    Hi @thenightrider
When Live Traffic logging is turned off, no cookies are set so human/bot detection will not be performed as it should.

@mountainguy2 I’m not sure if you have “Live Traffic” turned on or off at the moment, could you please clarify?

    Thanks.
