  • Have a look under Tools > Site Health to see if any anomalies are mentioned there, especially in the Info tab where the directories are listed.

And is it possible to manually update a plugin individually?

    Thanks Threadi,

I did as per your guidance, and went through the Tools and did as the system recommended. But the issue kept persisting.

I tried updating the plugins manually and even deleted the themes that were not active, but the issue is not resolved. I cannot be able to install any plugin or theme on WordPress to perform a backup.

Is there another way I can resolve the issue or do I have to delete and reinstall wordpress on my machine.

So there were no anomalies in the site health? That’s strange.

Have a look at the error log of the hosting, if an error occurs during the update it should be documented there.

What exactly is the message you receive when updating? Which path are you taking? You are also welcome to show a screenshot: https://www.ads-software.com/support/forum-user-guide/block-editor/#adding-screenshots
